Logo analysis
My final design for my logo is simple, almost pixelated like. I have always liked pictures that were a maximum 64 by 64 pixels. This is where I got the idea for my logo, pixels. I just didn't know what to in pixels. I looked up many pixel pictures and got some ideas. A flame, multiple colours blending in together and my initials.
So this is where I started. I first thought of boxing in the design, showing the boundaries of the logo and then starting the design in side. I stuck with the logo size of 16 by 16 as it is simple but effective. I started with the simple flame, which was really basic and it didn't 'say' anything. So I moved onto multiple flames, still the same outcome. I then started on multiple colours that could blend in with each other, I just had to think of the design. First came the simple straight lines, but I thought that was too basic, so I went for a diagonal approach with multiple colours. This was possibly my favorite logo, until I decided it didn't show me, so to speak. This was then when I came up with my current logo. My final design was my initials in pixels. Simple and plain, a logo that shows me in a unique way.
Altogether my logo design was set out to be in pixels because I'm not that gone on graphical work as my art skills aren't as talented as others. I also use pixels because allot of art started as pixels, whether it is game design or physical art, it has started as pixels and developed into other pictures. I didn't want to put to much stress on my self when working later in the year so I didn't start a 'master piece' that would wow everyone, meaning I could start in pixels and create an image that would work, although it did limit me to ideas but in the end I found one that worked in pixels and didn't look out of place. During early production of my logo I thought I would try to set a barrier around the image, which was the black pixels in the corners, but this limited me even more which I recognised a bit late in the production. When it came close to the deadline I struggled to find a logo that worked and I could use, this was when I started using my initials for the logo, SS. This then started a chain reaction so to speak, where I created multiple logos with the same target. A logo that was simple but effective. I Got my final design at the start, but I decided to create a few more just in case I changed my mind, but in the end I came to a decision of using my first design. I also set the background as transparent because it could then be used on everything with out any background interference, hence why the background looks black in the final design.
